The United Nations-backed, Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC) in the west of the country officially said in a statement it would unify with its rival in Benghazi in the east.
The two NOCs will unify budgets for the remainder of the financial year and will make infrastructure rehabilitation a priority, according to the statement.
The new company will set its new headquarters in the eastern city of Benghazi.
