The company started drilling the Eba-1 vertical exploration well in the Mount Toondina formation to test the unconventional reservoirs in the pre-Permian sequence where sediments are expected to be up to 2000 meters thick.
Linc expects the well to take about 30 days to drill and lies near the Maglia-1 well where Linc recorded oil shows while drilling in 2010.
After the completion of the Eba-1, which is expected late next month, Linc will turn its attention to the third well the campaign, Fox-1.
