Privately held Llog Exploration has won regulatory approval for a new prospect in the US deep-water Gulf of Mexico on acreage it picked up at a lease sale last March.
The exploration plan for the Khaleesi prospect covers up to two wells with surface locations in Green Canyon 389 and bottomhole locations in Green Canyon 390.
The well is named after a character from HBO's popular television series Game of Thrones and the books the show is based on.
