Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) is understood to be at the head of a very short queue aiming to win the main fabrication contract.
The low bid put NPCC ahead in the tender race for the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco) work ahead of regional rivals McDermott and Petrofac.
“NPCC put in quite an aggressive bid for the Umm Shaif upgrade,” said a source familiar with the tendering, which ended in early November with the submission of price offers by the three companies.
