The Moscow-based player is no longer pursuing prospects at its operated offshore Block SL-5-11, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
Nobody was available for comment at Lukoil on Wednesday afternoon. The company website no longer lists any activities in Sierra Leone.
Lukoil holds a 49% stake in the block, which is in the Sierra Leone-Liberian basin and has water depths of up to 3300 metres.
