The Russian operator’s Dubai-based international arm Lukoil Overseas holds a 60% share in the licence awarded in 2012, while Japan’s Inpex holds the remaining 40% and the concessionaire is Iraq’s South Oil Company.
The seismic shoot by BGP began in April on the 5600-square kilometre licence and is now complete six months ahead of schedule, Lukoil said.
“The acquired seismic data will be processed and interpreted to identify promising sites for exploration drilling,” the operator added.
