The company posted a profit of nearly 62.7 billion rubles ($969.3 million) for the June quarter, down from the nearly 64.3 billion rubles over the same period last year.
The fall in second quarter profits came as revenues slipped from nearly 1.5 trillion rubles last year to just under 1.4 trillion rubles in the recent quarter.
Lukoil blamed the decline in its second quarter result on the decrease in oil and gas prices as well fluctuations of ruble exchange rates to the US dollar and euro.
