The planned 7120/1-5S probe, dubbed Gohta-3, will be drilled in a water depth of around 344 metres in Lundin-operated production licence 492 in the frontier Loppa High play of the sub-Arctic region, according to an application filed with Norway’s Environment Agency.
The Swedish explorer is therefore apparently exercising the first of six well options for the Ocean Rig-owned semisub, following a firm three-well campaign due to be completed by year-end, under a charter with a reported low dayrate of around $150,000.
