Lundin re-entered the Alta-3 appraisal well on the eastern flank of the discovery in PL609 to deepen the well to further assess the quality of the Permo-Carboniferous carbonate reservoir.

It also carried out three tests to investigate the production/injection characteristics of the reservoir.

Two of the tests saw Lundin inject 5000 and 18,200 barrels per day of seawater, respectively, in the carbonate reservoir below the oil-water contact, which the company said proved good to very good reservoir quality and injectivity in the Falk and Orn formations.
