The independent has made the find at the shallow-water Maligan exploration well in Block SB307/SB308.
The well, which was spudded in late January, was drilled to 1380 metres using the Seadrill jack-up West Prospero.
Lundin did not say how much net pay was found or in what layers. It had been targeting hydrocarbons in Miocene-aged sands.
Lundin operates the licence on65% after farming out a 20% stake to Dyas, while state player Petronas Carigali hols the remaining 15%.
