The Swedish independent is drilling ahead at the Imbok-1 well on the Imbok prospect that sits in blocks SB307 and SB308, using the Seadrill-owned jack-up West Prospero.
The well is targeting Miocene-aged sands and drilling depth is set to reach 1700 metres, with drilling to take around 30 days.
The Imbok prospect has potential estimated at 53 million barrels of oil equivalent of gross unrisked prospective resources.
