Under the deal, Matrix will supply subsea installation buoyancy to facilitate Subsea 7’s tie-in operations at the Chevron-operated project. With water depths expected to reach up to 1350 metres, the buoyancy system will range from 0.5 tonnes to 10 tonnes.
Matrix will manufacture the system at its composite syntactic foam plant in Henderson while the associated tooling will be produced by the company’s heavy engineering division in Malaga, near the Western Australian capital city of Perth.
