McDermott employs more than 300 engineering, marine and support personnel in its Singapore office. It was not immediately clear how many of those employees would be offered a position in the Malaysian capital.
The move is expected to be complete by the end of this year, the company said.
A spokesman said the move is "due to a number of factors, including the movement of established customers, partners, competitors and engineering expertise to Malaysia".
