The Australian company revealed Thursday it had assessed the first of three identified oil plays within the block to hold nearly 8.2 billion barrels of oil in place with a prospective recoverable resource 395 million barrels.
The estimate is for the Lower Sheet play, which lies at a depth of between 2000 and 3500 metres, where MEO has already identified 15 individual leads.
