Metgasco's board unanimously agreed the settlement was in the company's best interest and has recommended shareholders vote in favour of the proposal which will see it hand back PEL 13, PEL 16 and PEL 426.
The Australian company has been in settlement talks with the state government for several months over damages related to the the suspension of its 2014 drilling programme.
