Metgasco said it was expected to take about four days to gather the 16 kilometres of seismic over PEL 16, with Terrex currently expected to start the survey in the second half of November, subject to the availability of equipment.

The shoot is being carried out to provide more definition of the northern extent of the Greater Mackellar gas exploration prospect and provide more confidence of the structure’s closure before drilling.

“The current program will be run along existing roads and will have minimal impact on the local community or landholders,” Metgasco managing director Peter Henderson said.

The company also revealed Tuesday that negotiations with a drilling contractor for the Rosella well on the Greater Mackellar prospect were nearly complete.
