Officials with the country's National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) said only two unidentified companies thus far had signed up to make offers on the national oil company's first-ever farm-out in the deep waters of the Perdido fold-belt.
Commissioners agreed to knock back the timeline by about a week, delaying the deadline for requesting pre-qualification from 31 August to 8 September.
The rationale was that eight companies had requested authorisation to see the data and accordingly might need more time to complete the business decision.
