Project partner OGDC said on Wednesday that the Talonj West-1 exploration well drilled in the Tal block reached a total depth of 4941 metres.
"During ongoing testing of Lumshiwal formation, the well flowed 13.1 million cubic feet of gas per day through 32/64-inch choke size," OGDC said.
"Testing operations are still in progress to ascertain the true potential of the discovery."
MOL operates the Tal block with a 10% interest with its joint venture partners, OGDC and Pakistan Petroleum Limited each with a 30% stake, Government Holdings Private with a 5% stake, and Pakistan Oil Fields Limited holding 25%.
