Around 9% of US Gulf natural gas production has been shut in, according to the latest update from the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).

So far, operators have evacuated 10 platforms and one rig in the US Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, three dynamically positioned rigs have been moved out of the storm's path, BSEE said.

However, several operators were continuing plans to return previously evacuated workers to platforms as Hurricane Hermine pushes toward northern Florida and away from the oil-producing region.
