Joint venture partner Tap Oil revealed on Monday that the jack-up Atwood Orca had spudded the MNA-17 well in the G1/48 concession.
MNA-17 will be drilled from the Manora platform to a depth of 1869.3 metres to appraise the 500 series sands, while the well also has a development component.
It will assess a separate untested fault block, the Manora West Structure, which Tap said had the potential to de-risk the Greater Manora West prospective resources.
