Industry sources said talks with potential bidders are already under way, with a contract due to be placed within two months.

Kudu’s three subsea wells will be tied back to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which Upstream understands will be supplied by Norway’s BW Offshore.

Namcor is expected to conclude talks with BW in July.

The FPSO will extract condensate from Kudu’s well-stream, while gas will be exported via a 130-kilometre, 18-inch pipeline to a landfall near Oranjemund, where state-owned utility NamPower aims to build an 800-megawatt power plant.

A
