Nasser was named interim chief of the world's biggest exporter in May after a shake-up that saw his predecessor become both chairman of Aramco and Saudi Arabia's health minister. The move by the council, announced Thursday, makes his appointment official.
The same shake-up removed the company from the kingdom's petroleum ministry and created a new 10-person supreme council for Aramco chaired by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
