Delivery of the rig has now been deferred to 6 January 2017 in the latest amendment to a standstill agreement with the Sembcorp Marine-owned yard entered into last December, according to a statement from Oslo-listed NADL, the harsh-environment unit of John Fredriksen-backed Seadrill.
The pact had previously been extended to 2 September and NADL said “the latest extension allows the parties to continue to explore commercial opportunities” for the sidelined rig.
