QP concluded on Monday a competitive process for the field’s further development and operation, which is due to start in July 2017 after a 25-year production agreement with Denmark's AP Moller-Maersk comes to an end.
Under a new joint venture, QP selected Total as the field partner, as the French player “presented the best offer”.
Now, the duo have formed a Qatari company to be known as “North Oil Company” that will develop and operate Al Shaheen.
