The company has not yet determined a return-to-service date for the upgrader, which will be cold stacked, Nexen's senior vice president of Canada operations Ron Bailey said.
Bailey spoke at a press event Tuesday that covered a host of problems at the Long Lake facility over the past year, including the explosion, a pipeline spill, and minor wildfire damage.
The explosion and subsequent fire occurred at the hydrocracker unit of the in-situ oil sands facility on 15 January.
