The one-month truce would also apply to the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), the group largely responsible for the attacks, a Petroleum Ministry official was quoted as saying by Reuters.
"It was very difficult getting the NDA to the negotiating table, but we eventually did through a proxy channel and achieved the truce," the official said.
The NDA last week claimed responsibility for a blast on a pipeline owned by Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, having also carried out sabotage attacks on other crude lines as well as wells and facilities owned by US supermajor Chevron.
