The 19-year-old semi-submersible platform was towed to the Kvaerner Stord yard in August for an extensive upgrade to reinforce the hull and renovate the topsides to keep the facility in operation until 2030.
The PSA’s inspection covered early-phase assessments of load-bearing structures and maritime systems, carried out at Statoil’s offices near Oslo last month.
The authority found no non-conformities, but identified two improvement points when it comes to use of software during verification and visibility of technical responsibility, the PSA said.
