The National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema) revealed Wednesday it had asked the UK supermajor for more information relating to the environment plan for the proposed Stromlo-1 and Whinham-1 exploration wells.
It said it expected BP to provide the additional information by 28 October, however it added the company could request an extension if required.
Nopsema has knocked back BP’s environmental plan twice previously, saying in May it was not satisfied that the plan met the acceptance criteria.
