North Sea industry operations can expect “some short-term disruption” after helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky grounded all flights of its S-92 aircraft following an incident off the UK late last month that left a helideck damaged.

An alert service bulletin issued by Sikorsky in the early hours of Tuesday, which calls for inspections of tail rotors of all its S-92 models, is, however, simply a “precautionary measure” and an “expected response” from a manufacturer following such a safety incident, industry lobby group Oil & Gas UK (OGUK) said.
