Royale will absorb the 30% stake previously owned by Western Australia-based Rampart Energy, which is now called Pilot Energy.
The US operator is now the sole owner of the 96,000-acre Alaska North Slope Western Block, as well as exclusive rights to the proprietary 3D seismic data.
In 2014, Royale began legal proceedings against Rampart, saying the Australian company was in breach of its obligations under a participation agreement for the block.
