Oil companies will now be invited to nominate which blocks they would like to see on offer in all opened areas of the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea that are not covered by the annual awards in pre-defined areas (APA) rounds. Norway’s North Sea acreage is all included in APA.
“Petroleum activity is time-consuming and expensive, and needs a long-term view,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg told reporters at the ONS conference in Stavanger.
