A total of 325 workers are now out on strike after a further 23 employees were called out at the end of last week, primarily working with management of drilling waste on platforms and rigs with major contractors Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes and Oceaneering, said Ommund Stokka, an official with Industri Energi (IE).
He said the industrial action was having a widespread impact on drilling operations, which had been effectively halted on many facilities as drilling waste handling is required to prevent emissions to sea.
