Its subsidiary Novatek-Yurkharovneftegas will make a one-time payment of 404 million roubles ($6.25 million) after winning the 25-year licence at an auction.
The tract is estimated to hold 62.7 billion cubic metres of recoverable gas resources, as well as 18.6 million tonnes (147 million barrels of oil equivalent) of liquids, boosting the company’s resource base in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region where it is engaged in developing the Yamal LNG project.
