The minister announced on Monday that three offshore and five onshore blocks in New Zealand would be open for bidding from 24 May.
The exploration permits on offer will include three onshore blocks in Taranaki and two on the east coast of the North Island, as well as three offshore release areas in the Reinga-Northland basins, Taranaki basin and Great South-Canterbury basins.
