Presidents Barack Obama of the US and Justin Trudeau of Canada have opted to set aside the near entirety of their countries' respective Arctic areas from future oil and gas drilling, the two administrations said today.
The US areas cover all of the Chukchi Sea and a substantial portion of the Beaufort Sea, with the administration also pulling Atlantic offshore areas.
