In a document entitled "Commitment to the Future" - addressed to its employees and obtained by Upstream - Odebrecht chief executive and president Newton de Souza called for the creation of a compliance committee to reinforce the governance model.
De Souza, who took over after the arrest of Marcelo Odebrecht a year ago in connection with crimes investigated by the Car Wash task force, also proposed the increased participation of independent advisers to ensure greater independence in decision-making processes.
