The state-owned company said the probe, located in the Chakwal district, was drilled down to the depth of 3220 metres targeting the Eocene reservoir of the sub thrust sheet to test the potential of the lower Sakessar formation, where “significant reserves of hydrocarbons were found”.
The well initially produced 180 barrels per day of crude oil with a jet pump, OGDC said.
