More than 142 barrels of oil-water mixture have been recovered, according to a report from the US Coast Guard. About 126 barrels of oil leaked from the Harvest-operated pipeline near Bay Long on Monday before it was secured.
The spill has impacted wildlife, as 200 birds are thought to have been oiled. Response crews were working to capture wildlife for rehabilitation, and have so far captured four birds and one reptile, according to the Coast Guard.
