The oil company start-up, led by chief executive Erik Haugane with former oil minister Ola Borten Moe on the management team, is looking to select a contractor to supply the unit by this summer, Haugane told Upstream recently.
He has previously been reported as saying that he expects bids from three contractors.
Likely contenders for the coveted award include Maersk Drilling, with its jack-up Maersk Inspirer seen as a potential candidate, Seadrill’s North Atlantic Drilling Ltd and Rowan.
