The Vienna-based company reported a net income of €229 million ($309.7 million) for the three months ended 30 September, down from €311 million in the same period last year.

Earnings before interest and tax were also down 26% to €576 million.

OMV said earnings were hit by lower sales volumes in Libya, Pakistan and the UK, as well as by the write-off of unsuccessful wells and exploration licences in Iraqi Kurdistan.
