The two companies reportedly have their eyes set on an up to 29% share in Rosneft's Taas-Yuriakh project, which could be worth around $1 billion based on the valuation of a recent stake purchase.
The deal is expected to be discussed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow next week, Reuters reported citing two sources.
According to the news wire however, the exact size and value of the stake was yet to be decided.
