The supply overhang that has put pressure on prices in recent years could retreat to historical levels as early as next year following Opec’s decision to curb production.
Opec agreed to its first production cut since 2008 on Wednesday which will see the producer group reduce output from current levels of about 33.6 million barrels per day to 32.5 million bpd.
