The 12-member body is currently producing 600,000 bpd above its collective output target of 30 million bpd, according to Bjornar Tonhaugen, vice president for oil and gas markets at industry analyst firm Rystad Energy.
“If there is no change in the output target, it could indicate a paradigm shift,” Tonhaugen wrote on the day of the 166 meeting of Opec in Vienna.
