The rig was delivered on Tuesday after several extensions to the delivery date and Opus said the drillship would now remain alongside at Shanghai Shipyard until it is contracted.
Shanghai Shipyard has been contracted to build four drillships under the Tiger series, which are designed to operate in water depths of 1525 metres and drill to 10,000 metres.
Construction and commissioning of the other three rigs are ongoing, Opus said.
