The company will dish out $615,000 in federal civil penalties for the spills and other Clean Water Act violations, as well as $100,000 in civil penalties and response costs to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. ORB has also been ordered to improve spill response preparedness and spill prevention methods.

A complaint filed by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) alleges that ORB spilled more than 1000 barrels of crude oil into the Atchafalaya River basin during the three spills.
