The Geographe 2 development well in project area Vic/L23 in the Otway basin started drilling on Tuesday, part of the company’s bid to find more gas reserves close to its Thylacine offshore platform.
The well will be connected to the platform through a subsea production system when completed – to be remotely controlled from shore when operational.
The development well forms part of a larger programme set to run over the next two years that will see up to six exploration wells drilled.
