“I think we are going to see a pretty fundamental restructuring,” of the US onshore industry, Papa told the crowd at the IHS Ceraweek conference in Houston. “I would predict that in the next six to 12 months you are going to see a decimation of that industry - just companies and bodies all over the place there – a lot of bankruptcies, a lot of chapter 11s.”
Papa sees pain then gain for US tight oil
The former chief executive of US tight oil pioneer EOG Resources sees a period of extreme pain and restructuring in the US onshore sector but still believes the country could become the largest oil producer in the world within the next decade.
