Pemex said Wednesday on its Twitter account that its Valtierrilla-Abasolo pipeline, near the city of Salamanca, was leaking natural gas.
Around 500 people have been temporarily evacuated as a result, Pemex said, adding that no injuries were reported.
The valves on the affected pipeline stretch were closed and workers are currently working to disperse the gas cloud, the company said.
