Mexico's state-led oil company posted net income of 62 billion pesos ($3.6 billion) in the three months to March.
That compared to a loss of 100.6 billion pesos in the year-ago period.
Crude production continued its decline with a 3% decrease, averaging 2.23 million barrels per day, compared to 2.3 million bpd in the 2015 quarter.
