Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) this week authorised Vasto 1001, which will take a fresh swing at an interesting but challenging objective in the region's subsalt mini-basin.
The CNH also gave Pemex the OK to drill Nobilis-1, a new wildcat near the prior Maximino discovery.
The state-led oil giant is amid a major programme to further explore its side of the deep-water Gulf of Mexico after key initial discoveries like Trion and Exploratus.
